Deep down, we all desire to dance. Or simply to jig and boogie without agreeing much with the beats and grooves as that somehow shakes off our struggles and troubles. But let’s be fair, that means we would look really crazy on the dance floor and not everyone is ‘brave’ enough to put up with an image like that. This leads to the new dancing phenomenon – Dancing in The Dark.
Dancing in The Dark – A New Global Dancing Phenomenon
The lights go down, the music goes up. Dancing in The Dark is a simple concept suggesting that you should dance however as if nobody is watching. “There must be a moment when you secretly dance at home alone, and that feels so free and nice, right?” said Gert Jan Mattens, the founder of First Light.
Apparently, dancing in the dark could increase energy levels and build individual confidence. “We invite people to dance in complete darkness, and break their daily routine with something new, fun and healthy.”
Mark Down Your Diary — Aug 14!!
First Light has brought the phenomenon to Hong Kong and organizing pop-up session. The next session will be on a Monday Aug 14, imagine kicking off your week fresh in a room that’s full of energy and positivity! It really is a wellness session as it includes guided meditation, qi gong, movement therapy, pranamaya (breathing techniques), guided trance and yoga nidra etc.
The event has indeed been taking place in over 70 different cities in North America and Europe, even closer to home in cities such as Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur. It’s never too late for Hong Kong to take part we guess.
