Chinese President, Xi Jinping, is visiting Hong Kong for three days (29th, 30th June; 1st July), for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover from Britain to China as well as the inauguration ceremony of the new Hong Kong government.
It is the first time Xi Jinping visiting Hong Kong as a Chinese premiere and the Hong Kong Police Force is mounting the highest security operation throughout the city.
Main Roads Blocked Around Wanchai and Admiralty
Police suggest the general public to stay out of Hong Kong Island if possible.
Main roads around Wanchai and Admiralty will be blocked and a number of bus routes will be temporarily changed and bus stops will be moved. Pedestrian paths and roads around Wanchai and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will be marked as restricted area.
MTR and Ferry services will be running normally. It is expected that the traffic around Admiralty and Wanchai will be extremely busy though. Police suggest the general public to stay out of Hong Kong Island if possible.

Fan Kam Road in Pat Heung, New Territories Blocked on Friday Morning
Meanwhile, the whole Fan Kam Road which goes between Yuen Long and Sheung Shui will also be blocked on Friday morning as Xi Jinping will visit the Shek Kong Military Camp which is stationed by the soldiers from mainland China in Pat Heung, from 8am to 1pm. Citizens around the area are suggested to set off earlier for work and school.
